Wilkes Co., NC Land Entry 1082. July 26, 1779:

"Carlton Keeling[name marked out] Michael Souther[name marked out] Henry Souther Enters seventy five
acres of land in Wilkes County lying on
Hunting Creek Beginng.[Beginning] at three certain
white oaks above Stephen Southers & run.g.[running]
up the creek for complt.[compliment]."

 

THERE IS A LARGE "X" MARKING OUT THIS LAND ENTRY and efforts to find a land grant for this land entry do not show a land grant FOR THIS LAND ENTRY in the name of Carlton Keeling, Michael Souther, Henry Souther, Sam Fendall or John Standley Junr.

The land entry in the Secretary of State's land entry book in Raleigh shows the following for Land Entry #1082:

Wilkes Co., NC Land Entry #1082, 26 Jul 1779:

Henry Souther Enters seventy five acres
of land in Wilkes County lying on hunting
Creek Beging. at three certain white oaks
above Stephen Southers & runig. up the creek
for compt.

The NC State Archives does not have a land grant for Henry Souther for land entry #1082.
