1900 Jan 5 - Carroll Co., Mo. - Obituary from the Carrollton Daily Democrat:
Mrs. James Nance, wife of the superintendent of the county farm, died at 7 o’clock Thursday evening, of typhoid fever, after an illness of eight weeks. The death was not unexpected, because for a week before the end came, almost all hope of her recovery had been abandoned. Mrs. Nance was the daughter of Bennett Brock, was born in Trotter Township 35 years ago, and had resided in this county ever since. Besides a husband, she leaves three children, the eldest was about 14 years of age. The funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Church this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o’clock. To the husband and children we extend sympathy in this hour of sorrow.
