Richard Brown of (county not given) to Francis Jones of Halifax Co. 385 1/2 acres for 170 pounds granted to Richard Brown by patent on 30 Aug 1783 beginning at a white oak near the Mill Creek, thence south, Difficult Creek. 1768 May 6- Halifax Co., Va. -pg 114 - Richard Stanley is a witness on a deed. Fulker Fulkerson of Halifax Co., Va., planter, to John Phelps of Halifax Co., Va., planter, about 100 acres for 30 pounds being part of a greater tract of land of 320 acres which was granted to Richard Kiser by letters of patent dated June 5, 1765, and Kiser conveyed to Fulkerson by indenture dated August 13, 1765, recorded in Halifax. Witnesses were RICHARD STANLEY, Ambrose Estes and William Wright. Recorded May 19, 1768 after Catherine, the wife of Fulker, relinquinshed her right of dower. 109

1776 Oct 29 - Halifax Co., Va. - Page 133 - A deed from William Wright of Halifax, to Ambrose Estes and John Wood of Halifax. William Wright possesses an interest in 2 tracts of land, 1 whereon he now lives, containing about 100 acres; The other tract is in Pittsylvania [County] on Cherrystone Cr, containing 800 acres; also several slaves, horses, cattle, hogs, and other moveable estate. He wants to settle the same on Ann, his present wife, and on the children which he now has or hereafter may have by Ann, hence this deed. William Wright, for the natural love he has for said Anne, his wife, and for his children, has granted to Ambrose Estes and John Wood, the 2 tracts of land, the slaves, animals, and other moveable estate, to have and to hold, upon trust that Estes and Wood shall stand seized of the land, slaves, and other estate, for the use and benefit of the said William and Anne during their joint lives, and for the use of the survivor of them, and after their decease, then to stand seized of the 1st tract for the use of Robert Wright, eldest son of the said William and Ann. And of the 2nd tract, with the slaves, animals, and other estate, for the use and benefit of all the children which said William Wright now has or may have by Ann, to be equally divided between them.
