1800 Mar 19 - Caroline Co., Va. - John Standley is on a tax list paying one white tithe and one horse/mule. Moses Standley is also on this tax list next to John Standley. 24

1805 Aug 1 - Caroline Co., Va. - Reuben Clatterbuck is security to the marriage of John Standley and Elizabeth Clatterbuck. 473

1810 - Shelby Co., Ky. - John is on the census showing one male age 0-10, one male age 16-26 and one female age 16-26. 480

1820 - Shelby Co., Ky - John is on the census showing 3 males age 0-10, 1 male age 10-16, 1 male age 26-45, 1 female age 0-10 and 1 female age 26-45. 481

On 1 Aug 1805 when John was 20, he married Elizabeth CLATTERBUCK, in Caroline Co., Va.473 Born ca 1790 in Virginia.

125. Winifred STANLEY.483 Born ca 1790 in Caroline Co., Va.63 Winifred died in Virginia bef 1880, she was 90. Born ca 1790 in Caroline Co., VA. Winifred died ca 1880, she was 90.

1827 Feb 6 - Caroline Co., Va. - Winifred Stanley married Thomas Smith with James Mullen security. 484

Winifred is without a husband on the 1850 census, and appears to be living with her mother. Thomas either died or left her before 1850.

William Smith; 2 males under age 5, 1 male 20 - 30, 2 females under a ge 5, 1 female age 20 - 30
Rice (?) Smith; 1 male 15 - 20, 1 male 60 -70, 2 females age 20 - 30, 1 fe male age 30 - 40, 1 female age 70 -80
Moses Stanley (possible father of Winiford Smith); 2 males 10 - 15, 1 ma le 50 - 60, 1 male 80 -90, 1 female under age 5, 1 female age 50 - 60

Found Judy Cardwell's website which has Winifred's ancestry. (I was right about Moses being her father.) Her source for Winifred being his daugh ter is apparently:

On 6 Feb 1827 when Winifred was 37, she married Thomas SMITH485, in Caroline County, VA.483 Born ca 1804.483 Born ca 1804 in Virginia.

(family legend) is that John's father was Peter Smith from Maine. I ha ve not found anything to substantiate this.
