The Clerk of Augusta County will grant my son Elias Vickers, a license to marry Miss Tabatha Stanley, daughter of Christopher Stanley, and for sa--- this shall be your sufficient warrant, given under my hand and seal the day and date above written. Signed William (X ) Vickers.

Know all men by these presents that we Elias Vickers and Lawrence
Vickers and Christopher Stanley are held and firmly bond unto his
excellency James Monroe, Esquire, Governor of Virginia … in the just
and full sum of $ 150.00, to which payment well and truly to be made,
we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and
severally firmly by these presents … and dated this 23rd day of
November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two.
The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas there is a
marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound
Elias Vickers and Tabatha Stanley, spinster and daughter of the said
Christopher Stanley. If there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the
said marriage, then the above obligation … to remain in full force.

and one of the children & Legal Representative
of Christopher Stanley a Revolutionary Soldier and
Elizabeth Stanley - his wife who is now deceased
do hereby irrevocably constitute and appoint L.
Blanchard True of Washington City, D. C. - my true
and lawful attorney for me and in my name to ex-
amine into and prosecute any claim that may be
due or found to be due the children & Legal
representatives of Christopher Stanley in virtue
of the services of the said Christopher Stanley
in the Revolutionary War and the several acts of
congress in relation thereto and that might have
accrued to either of the said parties and not done
during their life time and now due their legal
Representative - I do hereby authorize my said
agent an attorney to do all things that I might
or could do if personally present, and I hereby
certify & confirm all that my said agent or
attorney may do or cause to be legally done in
the premises - I revoking all other authority
I may have given to any other person in the

1854 Jul 31 - Stokes Co., NC - [William] Christopher Stanley sold to John Banner 52 acres for $65.30 on both sides of the main road leading by Sandy Ridge to Penns Store adjacent William[Christopher] Stanley and Francis Tilley including the plantation and improvements whereon the late Thomas Stanley(son of Christopher) lived before his death. Witness was Henry Snow. Deed proved in Jun 1857 by Henry Snow. 615

John married Lucinda AMOS, daughter of Francis AMOS. Born ca 1794 in Virginia. Lucinda died in Shelby Co., Ind. on 25 Feb 1863, she was 69.
