“I Thomas Stanley of the County of Henry and State of Virginia do make publish and declare this my last will and testament
First I direct that my body to intered in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life, and as to my worldly effects, I direct that my wife delilah Stanley should she survive me, hold and enjoy the same during her natural life and at her death to be disposed of as follows: I give to my grandson Thomas Stanley, son of Swinfield Stanley, one hundred dollars I give to my grand daughters Elizabeth & Martha Stone, children of my daughter Jane stone decd. two hundred dollars, one hundred to each of them, and of the remaining part of
my estate, I give to my son Peyton Stanley one equal sixth part, and to my four grand sons Thomas, Clark, Peyton & Swinfield Maynor, I give one equal sixth part of my estate, to be equally divided among them. And to my son Swinfield Stanley i give the remainder four sixths of my estate. I am induced to give my said son Swinfield Stanley foursixtths or three fifths of my estate on account of moneys heretofore advanced by him to my son Costley[Costello] Stanley and to my daughter Catharine Belcher decd. and Elizabeth Philpott. I hereby constitute and appoint my sons Peyton and Swinfield Stanley executors of this my last will and testament written on one sheet of paper.
